Words cannot describe the beauty of Lake Como, especially when viewing it from a small Taxi boat cruising around the lake with the sun on your back. Andrea & Craig’s wedding was my first destination wedding and I find myself humbled in their decision to choose me as the official photographer. From the getting ready shots at the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni to the Lake trip at the amazing Villa del Balbianello, the whole day was one of those ‘pinch me’ moments for everyone involved. Andrea, Craig and their family and friends spent half an hour enjoying the views at Villa del Balbianello before heading back to Bellagio for light refreshments at the Villa Serbelloni boat house. Once the sun had set the wedding party moved inside to enjoy a luxurious meal.
Weddings like these don’t come along very often so I made the most of it and took many many photographs. Here is a sneak peek at a selection.
I would like to wish Andrea & Craig all the very best for the future and thanks again for choosing me as your photographer. It was an absolute pleasure.

Firstly, apologies for the delay in updating this blog post. I have been up to my eyes in images from various weddings at home and abroad.
Deana & Will were married on the 5th September at St Mary’s Church in Rawtenstall, Lancashire. The weather unfortunately started out a little miserable but luckily, later in the day the skies cleared long enough to give us some well earned portrait time.
I must admit I was pretty much blown away with Deana’s choice of dress. It had such an amazing regal quality and suited her perfectly. Will was as expected, laid back, easy going and pleasure to work with. Scaitcliffe Hall was their choice of venue and what a venue….superb! I hope you guys had a great time on your Honeymoon and I wish you both all the very best for the future.
Here are a few of my faves from the day.

Thank Bhudda for Karma, that’s all I can say. I turned up at the Preston Marriott for Ed & Winnie’s wedding but needed a canoe to get from the car park to the entrance, it rained that hard. Alas it wasnt long until Winnie’s prayers were answered and out popped the current bun. The weather was on and off all day but one thing is for sure, the weather was the furthest thing from Ed & Winnie’s thoughts. No two people could have been more relaxed and chilled out on their wedding day as these two were. After a tight schedule in the morning the rest of the day went by with ease, the guests were great and the Bride & Groom were nothing short of amazing.
I enjoyed the day and came away with many great shots. Ed & Winnie were a pleasure to work with and you could not meet a nicer couple. Best wishes for the future and I hope you have a safe trip back to Hong Kong for the penultimate part of your wedding.

Today I met with Ed & Winnie, my Bride and Groom from Hong Kong. They booked me to shoot their wedding earlier this year but seeing as Hong Kong is hardly the next town away, this is the first chance we have had to meet in person before the big day. Ed & Winnie are tying the knot this Friday the 28th August at ‘Our Lady & St Patricks’ RC Church in Walton-le-dale followed by the reception which is to be held at the Preston Marriott Hotel.
After the wedding they will be flying back for another ceremony in Hong Kong. It was a pleasure meeting you both and I am looking forward to seeing you both on Friday bright and early.
Here are a couple of shots of them together during our meet.

It’s not intentional on the part of the happy couple. The truth is photography, in general, can be a peculiar business. Cameras are everywhere these days, in pockets and purses, and even on mobile phones. Digital photography makes documentation of life an instant success, it might seem. But what sort of documentation? What sort of success?
Professional photographers are good at what they do, not because they put the thousands of pounds into their professional-grade equipment, but because of their vision to see life’s happenings in ways the non-pro doesn’t – and then to use their high-tech gear to capture the moments that matter.
Getting great photographs, especially the documentary sort familiar to photojournalists is practiced skill. That’s what brides, grooms and their families need to consider when deciding how they want the Big Day to be recorded forever more – and how they want to invest in that process.
The most common question couples ask themselves, for better or worse, seems to be: What’s it going to cost us to hire a photographer?
That question does not align itself with expectations of finding an out-of-this-universe, sensational photographer. A better question – or series of questions – would be:
* How important is it to have the Big Day preserved for the rest of our lives?
* How much can we invest in the one thing that will never let us forget the biggest moment of our lives?
* How good a photographer can we hire?
After all, what happens to the rest of the day? Flowers wilt. Cake and champagne disappears. The groom’s suit will go back to the shop. The bride’s dress will likely spend the rest of its life in the wardrobe. But photographs…

Only a few more dates available for 2009 and bookings for 2010/2011 have already begun. So if you are thinking about booking that prime date next summer then I urge you not to leave it too late. Dates available for this year are during the months of October, November & December & the first 2 weeks in August.

I get many prospective clients asking what kind of albums I offer in my packages and generally when I tell them, they are still non the wiser. Who can blame them though, it’s not everyday you go shopping for your wedding album.
So in light of this I thought I would post a few photographs displaying what exactly the Story Book albums look like. This one sports a full real leather cover with embossed names and is made up of 50 pages/sides.

I met up with Andrea + Craig last week to discuss some final details for their forthcoming destination wedding in Bellagio, Italy this September. Andrea, Craig and their guests will be staying at the luxurious Villa Serbelloni where they will enjoy a drinks reception after the ceremony and a 2 hour cruise around Lake Como!! What is even more exciting is that Andrea & Craig have privately booked the Villa del Balbianello for photographs. The Villa del Balbianello was featured in the blockbuster movie’s ‘Star Wars Episode II – Attack of the Clones’ & ‘Casino Royale’.
Words cannot describe how much I am looking forward to this gig! It’s going to be EPIC! Watch this space for what promises to be an amazing italian photofest!!

May I introduce to you the amazing Deana + Will! These guys are getting wed this September at Scaitcliffe Hall in Todmordon, Yorkshire. Feels like years ago since they first got in touch and indeed it was. Deana contacted me around June 2007 to see if I would be available to shoot their wedding! Luckily, booking so far in advance paid off and they were able to secure that prime date in September.
Look forward to seeing you guys again soon!
